Meet the founding members

Allison Vitek AURORA
Allison Vitek
Allison Vitek is a freelance musician, flute teacher, and bookkeeper in the Houston area. She teaches from her home studio in Cypress and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in Flute from the Music Teacher's National Association. In addition to being the founding member of AURORA, Allison is also a certified bookkeeper and owns A-Sharp Bookkeeper, a small bookkeeping firm catering to musicians.
 
In her spare time she writes arrangements for flute chamber music and also serves on the board of the Houston Flute Club as their Treasurer. Allison received a Bachelor's of Music in Instrumental Performance (Magna cum Laude) from Southwestern University in 2013.

 

Katie Beth AURORA

Katie Beth Farrell is an active cellist and private teacher from the Clear Lake area of Houston. She loves performing is also a strong advocate of cello pedagogy. Katie Beth enjoys teaching and has led group cello classes at Stringendo Summer Music Festival, the Central Texas String Academy, Vivaldi Music Academy, and several public schools throughout Houston. Katie Beth has participated in several music festivals including Masterworks, Stringendo, Green Mountain, and National Music Festival. She has played in masterclasses taught by Timothy Eddy, Anne Martindale Williams, and Eighth Blackbird cellist Nicholas Photinos.

She hold a B.M. from Baylor University and earned her M.M. in Cello Performance from Florida Sate University. Her primary teachers include Dr. Gary Hardie and Greg Sauer.

Katie Beth currently performs and teaches around the Houston area. She is principal cellist of the Clear Lake Symphony and a member of Symphony of Southeast Texas.

Susanna Campbell AURORA

Susanna Campbell is a passionate and experienced music educator and performer based in Houston, Texas. Recent concert highlights include the world premiere of Gary Schocker's Heaven's Above for the American Harp Society's National Conference in Atlanta, GA and the inaugural season of Shoso Duo. Susanna is principal harpist with the Round Rock Symphony. In addition to performing she maintains a private harp and piano studio and takes great delight in training and mentoring young musicians. Susanna also teaches music classes at Lone Star College, is on faculty at the Houston Summer Harp Festival as well as Stephen F. Austin State University, and is also the music director at King's Cross in Cypress, TX.

Susanna was a winner of the Concerto/Aria Competition at Stephen F. Austin State University in 2013, a 1st place winner of the Mildred Milligan Harp Competition in 2010, first chair harpist for the All-State Symphony Orchestra in 2007, and winner of the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra's Young Artist Concerto Competition in 2005. She received a Master's in Harp Performance from Stephen F. Austin State University where she studied with Ms. Emily Mitchell.
